Moon is an early EP from The Smashing Pumpkins, released in October 1989 without a label behind it. It arrived before the band had put out any studio albums, so it belongs to the very first stage of their story.

The group's debut album, Gish, followed in 1991, and Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness came after that. For anyone tracing the band back to its roots, Moon is a small but telling piece of the picture, a snapshot of the Pumpkins before the wider world had heard of them.
