Hard Cold Fire
Hard Cold Fire is the sixteenth studio album by Northern Irish rock band Therapy?, released on 5 May 2023 through Marshall Records. It follows 2018's Cleave, and it was recorded back in 2021 before being held over to 2023, after the band's delayed So Much For The 32 Year Plan tour took place in 2022.
Around twenty tracks were recorded or demoed, but only ten made the final cut. Vocalist and guitarist Andy Cairns has said the band wanted to return from the COVID-19 lockdown with force and catharsis, and the leftover songs were judged too depressing for that kind of comeback. That decision gives the album its purpose: a focused, cathartic set from a band more than three decades into its career.
