Under the Covers: Essential Red Hot Chili Peppers
Under the Covers: Essential Red Hot Chili Peppers is a compilation released on 31 March 1998 by EMI. As the title suggests, it gathers the band's versions of other people's songs, drawing mostly from their early albums rather than their later work.
It came out between One Hot Minute in 1995 and Californication in 1999, and it was a limited edition. The back cover lists ten tracks, but the disc actually holds thirteen, so there are three extra covers for anyone who buys it. For listeners who know the Chili Peppers mainly through their own songs, it offers a different angle on the band, showing what they chose to play when borrowing from others.
