What Hits!? Best of Red Hot Chili Peppers
What Hits!? is a compilation from Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on 29 September 1992 through EMI. It gathers material from the band's first four albums, running from The Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1984 through to Mother's Milk in 1989, and adds "Under the Bridge" from Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which had come out the year before.
The collection also carries "Show Me Your Soul", a track the band contributed to the Pretty Woman soundtrack and which turned up as a single B-side. This is the only full-length Chili Peppers release to include it, which makes the set a handy one for completists. "Behind the Sun", first heard on The Uplift Mofo Party Plan in 1987, was issued as a single with a music video to launch the compilation. It's a tidy overview of the band's early years.
