Out in L.A.
Out in L.A. is a compilation of rare Red Hot Chili Peppers material, released on 1 November 1994 through EMI. It gathers remixes, demo recordings, live covers and outtakes, giving a look at the band away from their regular studio albums.
It arrived after the group's move to Warner Bros. and their growing success there, and EMI's release was widely read as an effort to capitalise on that. Critics were unkind on release. Its appeal is for the committed fan: a patchwork of odds and ends from the band's early years on the label, best approached as a curio alongside records like The Uplift Mofo Party Plan and Mother's Milk.
