Album
Totem
Totem is the twelfth studio album by Soulfly, the American heavy metal band. It came out on 5 August 2022 on Nuclear Blast, and it sits between Ritual from 2018 and Chama from 2025 in the group's run of studio records. Its sound draws on groove, thrash and death metal.
The record marks a change in the line-up. Lead guitarist Marc Rizzo left in 2021, so this is the first Soulfly album since 2002 without him. Producer Arthur Rizk stepped in to play guitar solos, along with John Powers and Chris Ulsh. For anyone who has followed the band through the years, it is worth hearing to find out how Soulfly sounds with a new set of hands on the lead work.
