Enslaved
Enslaved is the eighth studio album by Soulfly, the American heavy metal band, and it came out in March 2012 on Roadrunner Records. Its sound sits in heavy metal and groove metal territory. The band recorded it in the autumn of 2011, mostly at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona, with Zeuss producing.
It marks a few changes in the band's story. Tony Campos, known as the frontman of Asesino, joined on bass for the first time here, and former Borknagar drummer David Kinkade played on it, the only Soulfly record he appears on. It was also the last of the band's studio albums to be released through Roadrunner, and Savages followed in 2013. For anyone tracing how Soulfly's line-up shifted, it's a useful stop along the way.
