From Conception: Live 1981
From Conception: Live 1981 is a live album by the American heavy metal band Dokken, released on 13 March 2007 through Hellion Records. It captures the group in concert at an early stage, with three songs that had not appeared before: "Goin' Down", "Hit and Run" and "You're a Liar". Alongside them sit reworked takes on material from Breaking the Chains, including "Paris Is Burning", "Breakin' the Chains" and "Nightrider".
The title points to 1981, the year of the band's debut, but the evidence points elsewhere. The set list matches those known from December 1983, and Jeff Pilson is credited on bass, which would not fit 1981. Pilson himself has said it comes from a King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcast from that December. Either way, it is a rare snapshot of the band playing its first-album songs live, before the run of records that followed with Tooth and Nail.
