Beast From the East
Beast From the East is Dokken's live album, recorded in Japan in April 1988 while the American band toured behind Back for the Attack. It came out in November 1988 on Elektra and gathers live versions of their best-loved songs from their first four studio albums, Breaking the Chains, Tooth and Nail, Under Lock and Key and Back for the Attack. It also adds one new studio track, "Walk Away".
It works as a snapshot of Dokken at the end of their 1980s run, with the heavy metal and hard rock catalogue played on stage. "Walk Away" got its own video, shot with the band performing on the Santa Monica Mountains above Topanga Canyon and the Pacific Ocean. The record also earned Dokken their only Grammy nomination, for Best Metal Performance in 1990, where they lost out to Metallica's "One".
