Dokken are an American heavy metal band who formed in Los Angeles in 1978, though the catalogue lists them as active from 1979. Their sound sits between glam metal, hard rock and heavy metal. The classic line-up was Don Dokken on vocals, George Lynch on lead guitar, Mick Brown on drums and Jeff Pilson on bass, who took over from Juan Croucier in 1983. That group held together until 1989, then returned from 1993 to 1998 and reunited briefly in 2016.

Their best-known albums are Tooth and Nail, Back for the Attack, Under Lock and Key and Breaking the Chains. "Alone Again", "In My Dreams" and "Burning Like a Flame" all charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and the live album Beast from the East earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance in 1989. The band split that year and reformed four years later. Don Dokken is now the only original member, and the most recent studio album is Heaven Comes Down, from 2023.
