Cinderella
Cinderella formed in the suburbs of Philadelphia in 1983 and came to prominence in the mid-1980s, when their hit singles and heavily rotated MTV videos turned a run of studio albums into multi-platinum sellers. Their early sound was glam metal, though the band always seemed to carry more weight than the look suggested. Tom Keifer's own site puts worldwide sales at 15 million records.
By the early 1990s they had moved towards a bluesier rock sound, with hints of roots music and a fondness for ballads along the way. Their studio albums are Night Songs (1986), Long Cold Winter (1988), Heartbreak Station (1990) and Still Climbing (1994), and all four remain the records people turn to. After a brief hiatus they reunited in 1996 and kept playing live, but never released another studio album. They went quiet after the 2014 Monsters of Rock Cruise, and in 2017 Keifer said there were no plans to reform.
