Album
Under Lock and Key
Under Lock and Key is the third studio album by the American band Dokken, released in 1985 on Elektra. It followed Breaking the Chains (1981) and Tooth and Nail (1984), and it sits at the point where the band's hard rock and glam metal leanings were finding a much wider audience, with Back for the Attack arriving two years later.
The record climbed to No. 32 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 67 weeks. Two singles made the Mainstream Rock chart: "The Hunter" at No. 25 and "In My Dreams" at No. 24, the latter also reaching No. 77 on the Hot 100. It went Gold in March 1986 and Platinum in April 1987, which makes it a good place to start if you want to hear Dokken at their commercial peak.
