Album
Bloodstone & Diamonds
Bloodstone & Diamonds is the eighth studio album from American heavy metal band Machine Head, released on 7 November 2014. It follows Unto the Locust from 2011 and comes before Catharsis in 2018. It is also the first record to feature bassist Jared MacEachern, who took over in 2013 from founding member Adam Duce, so it marks a real change in the band's line-up.
There is no title track. The name comes from a lyric in "Now We Die", which gives the album its slightly grim, jewel-hard identity. The music sits in the groove metal camp the band is known for. Years later, "Sail into the Black" was chosen for the video package introducing the triple threat match between Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and CM Punk on Night 1 of Wrestlemania 41, which says something about how well its weight carries.
