EP
Year of the Dragon
Year of the Dragon is an EP by Machine Head, released in 2000 on Roadrunner Records. It is listed as thrash metal, and it arrived at an interesting moment for the Californian band, who had formed in 1991 around vocalist and guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce.
It sits between The Burning Red, the 1999 album on which the band changed musical direction and faced accusations of selling out, and 2001's Supercharger. For anyone tracing how Machine Head moved from their early Burn My Eyes days towards the more divisive records that followed, it is a short, useful stop along the way.
