Unto the Locust
Unto the Locust is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Machine Head, released in September 2011 through Roadrunner Records. It followed The Blackening, and Robb Flynn both produced and mixed it. The band recorded it at Green Day's Jingletown Studios, and a mix of lead single "Locust" appeared that June on the Mayhem Festival iTunes sampler.
It sits at a turning point in the group's story. This was the last studio record to feature cofounder and bassist Adam Duce, who was fired in February 2013, and the last to come out on Roadrunner. It reached number 22 on the Billboard 200, the band's highest placing until Bloodstone & Diamonds climbed one spot higher, and it sold over 100,000 copies in the United States. For anyone who likes their groove metal heavy and confident, it is a record worth returning to.
