Live at the Paramount
Live at the Paramount captures Nirvana on stage in Seattle on 31 October 1991, just five weeks after Nevermind arrived. It came out on 24 September 2011 on DVD and Blu-ray, issued to mark the twentieth anniversary of that breakthrough second album. The CD version of the show also sits in the Super Deluxe reissue of Nevermind, alongside a DVD.
What sets it apart is the way it was filmed. This is the only Nirvana show shot entirely on 16 mm film, which gives a sharper, richer picture than videotape could manage. The Blu-ray adds uncompressed 48 kHz/24-bit sound. For anyone who wants to see the band at the moment Nevermind was taking hold, in their home city, it is a vivid record. It reached vinyl for the first time in April 2019.
