Death to False Metal
Death to False Metal is a compilation from Weezer, released on 2 November 2010. It gathers previously unreleased songs from across the band's career, rather than new material written for the occasion. Rivers Cuomo has said the tracks together make a record that should "logically follow Hurley", the studio album that had appeared earlier the same year. The title borrows a phrase coined by Manowar.
It arrived alongside the deluxe edition of Pinkerton, so the band's second album and a collection of odds and ends from the vaults landed together. For fans, it offers a look at songs that did not make it onto the main records, sequenced to play like an album in its own right. It debuted at number 48 on the US Billboard 200.
