SZNZ: Summer
SZNZ: Summer is the second instalment in Weezer's four-part SZNZ project, a set of seasonal releases first designated as EPs. It arrived digitally on 21 June 2022, timed to the summer solstice, with "Records" put out as the lead single just days beforehand. Atlantic issued it, and the UK and European release followed on 15 July 2022.
Daniel Omelio produced the record, with additional production from Suzy Shinn, a regular Weezer collaborator. It sits between the band's 2021 albums OK Human and Van Weezer and their later work, and its mix of alternative rock, pop, power pop and traditional heavy metal makes it a good one for anyone curious about how adventurous the band could be within a single project.
