SZNZ: Autumn
SZNZ: Autumn is the third instalment in Weezer's four-part SZNZ project, a set of seasonal releases first designated as EPs. It came out digitally on 22 September 2022 through Atlantic, timed to coincide with the September equinox. The band count it as their eighteenth studio album, and it sits in the pop-minded, genre-hopping stretch of their career that also took in OK Human and Van Weezer.
The day before release, Weezer played "What Happens After You?" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, giving listeners an early taste. Musically, the record draws on alternative rock, power pop and dance-rock, so it is worth hearing as one chapter of a larger seasonal cycle rather than a standalone statement.
