SZNZ: Spring
SZNZ: Spring is the first instalment in Weezer's four-part SZNZ project, a set of releases tied to the seasons of the year. It was originally billed as an EP, though it is also counted as the band's sixteenth studio album. It arrived digitally on 20 March 2022, timed to coincide with the spring equinox. A CD followed later that year, and a vinyl pressing came in early 2023.
The music leans towards folk rock and folk-pop, with power pop still in the mix. Ethan Gruska, Jake Sinclair and Suzy Shinn produced it, and Sinclair and Shinn had already worked with the band on the White Album and OK Human. The single was "A Little Bit of Love". It is a good place to start if you want to hear Weezer in a gentler, more seasonal mood.
