Album
Maladroit
Maladroit is Weezer's fourth studio album, released on 14 May 2002 by Geffen. The band produced it themselves, and it was the first to feature bassist Scott Shriner, who arrived after Mikey Welsh left in 2001. Shriner had already appeared in the video for "Photograph" from the previous record, the Green Album.
It sounds harder than anything Weezer had done before, with heavy metal riffs and a hard-rock edge. During recording, the band put demos on their website daily to gather fan reactions, though Rivers Cuomo often disagreed with what fans said, and a few radio stations ended up playing songs before release. "Dope Nose" and "Keep Fishin'" were the singles. The album reached number three on the Billboard 200 and went Gold within a month.
