Rude Awakening
Rude Awakening is the fifth studio album by American band Prong, released on 14 May 1996 through Epic. It sits in the groove metal and industrial metal camp, following Cleansing from 1994, and it closes a chapter for the band in more than one way. It was their last record for Epic, and the last to feature Ted Parsons and Paul Raven in the line-up.
The album entered the Billboard chart at No. 107, selling 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week. It came as an enhanced CD, and a limited edition appeared on 12-inch red vinyl. A 2008 reissue in digipak form added four remixes of the title single and a fresh booklet. For anyone following Prong's path, this is the record that marks the end of that era, and it is worth hearing for that reason alone.
