Force Fed
Force Fed is the debut album from American band Prong, a crossover thrash and heavy metal record that came out in 1988. It first appeared only in Europe, on Spigot Records, and was recorded around the same time as their 1987 mini-album Primitive Origins. It is also the first Prong record on which drummer Ted Parsons shared some of the songwriting.
The American release followed in 1989 through In-Effect/Relativity Records, and their parent company Epic Records went on to sign the band. Track listings vary by edition. The original vinyl left out "Bought and Sold", as do some CD versions, while certain CDs add "Mind the Gap" and a cover of Chrome's "Third from the Sun", both lifted from a 1989 single. That single reached No. 5 on the UK Independent Singles Chart and became a regular in Prong's live sets. Next up was Beg to Differ in 1990.
