Infotainment?
Infotainment? is the third studio album by Pitchshifter, released on 7 May 1996 through Earache Records. It followed Industrial in 1991 and Desensitized in 1993, and it came before www.pitchshifter.com in 1998. The record sits at the meeting point of electronic music, industrial and metal, with a rock backbone that suits listeners who like their guitars heavy and their machines louder.
The limited festival edition is the one for collectors. It came with a bonus disc called Exploitainment, which included CD-ROM videos for "Underachiever", "Triad" and "Deconstruction". It also had two extra audio tracks: a remix of "Underachiever" and the Disinformation Mix of "Product Placement". If you enjoy hearing a band's industrial leanings stretched out in remix form, that extra disc is a nice bonus.
