Industrial
Industrial is the debut album from Pitchshifter, the British industrial metal band, released in 1991 on Peaceville Records. It sits at the very start of a run of six studio albums that would take in Desensitized, Infotainment?, www.pitchshifter.com, Deviant and PSI. Here the band lean on a blend of industrial and death metal, a heavier and rawer mix than the records that followed.
What makes it worth hearing is how different it feels within the band's story. It is the only Pitchshifter album with Mark Clayden handling lead vocals, so it offers a version of the group that never appeared again. Shortly afterwards they put out the single "Death Industrial", which carried two new tracks that later turned up on Submit. For anyone tracing how the band found their feet, this is the place to begin.
