PSI

PSI is the sixth and final studio album from Pitchshifter, the industrial metal band who had been making records since Industrial in 1991. It arrived in May 2002, following Deviant from 2000 and www.pitchshifter.com from 1998.

The move to Mayan Records, a smaller label owned by Sanctuary Records, marks a change in circumstances, as the band's previous two albums had come out through a major label. Even so, the record blends electronic textures with heavy rock and industrial metal, the mix that defined their work. "Eight Days" and "Shutdown" were both issued as singles, making them good starting points. For anyone who followed the band from their early days, it is the closing chapter of the studio catalogue and worth hearing as such.
