Deviant
Deviant is the fifth studio album by British industrial metal band Pitchshifter, released in May 2000 on MCA Records. It follows www.pitchshifter.com, their commercially successful record of 1998, and comes before PSI in 2002. The sound pulls together industrial, alternative metal, breakbeat and drum and bass, with electronics and heavy guitars sharing the space.
Among the tracks, "Hidden Agenda" and "Dead Battery" both received promotional videos from DOSE Productions. "Everything's Fucked" first came out under the title "Everything Sucks", and Jello Biafra turns up as a guest on "As Seen on TV". The label saw the album as a disappointment next to its predecessor, but it is worth hearing for the band's blend of club-minded beats and metal, and for that Biafra cameo.
