The ConstruKction of Light
The ConstruKction of Light is King Crimson's twelfth studio album, released on 23 May 2000. It arrived five years after THRAK and was the first record by the band's "double duo" line-up: Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto. That four-piece would make one more studio album, The Power to Believe, in 2003.
It is also the longest studio album in the Crimson catalogue, and it leans towards the harder, more industrial and progressive metal end of the band's range, with art rock ideas still running through it. For anyone who follows the group's later years, it shows the new line-up finding its feet. It is also the only King Crimson studio album that did not chart in the United States, which makes it an overlooked chapter rather than a forgotten one.
