Live at Moles Club, Bath – April 30, 1981
This live album comes from a lo-fi audience recording made at Moles Club in Bath on April 30, 1981. It was first made available through the King Crimson Collector's Club in June 2000, and the original release credits the band as "Discipline", the name Robert Fripp gave this line-up before it became King Crimson again.
The sound quality is rough, but the tape matters because it captures the first live performance by the Discipline-era band, shortly before the studio album Discipline appeared later in 1981. Bass player Tony Levin wrote the liner notes. It is one for listeners who want to hear this phase of the band's story at its very beginning, and who are happy to trade polish for historical interest.
