On Broadway 1995
On Broadway 1995 is a two-disc live set from King Crimson, drawn from a five-night run at the Longacre Theatre in New York City in November 1995. The band were out promoting THRAK, their first studio album since 1984's Three of a Perfect Pair, and this release captures them in a theatre rather than a rock hall. It came out in 1999 through the King Crimson Collector's Club, with liner notes by Robert Fripp.
Some of the material turns up elsewhere, which is useful for completists. Part of it appears on the 2001 release Vrooom Vrooom, and the closing track, "Fearless and Highly THRaKked", also surfaced on THRaKaTTaK in 1996. Adrian Belew played The Beatles' "Free As A Bird" as a solo piece every night of the run, though it was left off here. For anyone who wants to hear the THRAK-era band working through a week of shows, this is a good place to start.
