Heavy ConstruKction
Heavy ConstruKction is a three-disc live set from King Crimson, taken from their European tour of May to July 2000. The recordings come from DATs made at the front-of-house mixing desk, so they capture the shows as the audience in the hall would have heard them. It came out on 7 November 2000 on Discipline Global Mobile.
The tour promoted the studio album The ConstruKction of Light and featured the "double duo" quartet of Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Trey Gunn on Warr guitar and Pat Mastelotto on drums. Bill Bruford had left in 1997, and Tony Levin sat this line-up out because of other commitments. The third disc is given over to improvisations from different shows, stitched together into what the liner notes call "a cohesive presentation out of a series of incoherent events". Disc 2 also carried video footage, playable on Windows and locked behind a password.
