Greatest Hits I, II & III: The Platinum Collection

Popularity39.6

Greatest Hits I, II & III: The Platinum Collection gathers Queen's three hits compilations, Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits II and Greatest Hits III, into a single three-CD set. Parlophone issued it on 13 November 2000, with a booklet of song facts and images tucked inside. It reached number 2 in the UK.

For anyone wanting the band's best-known songs in one place, it saves a good deal of shelf space and sorting. The US release came later, in September 2002, from Hollywood Records, using remastered versions of the first two volumes. In 2011, as part of Queen's 40th anniversary celebrations, it was reissued with 2011 remasters of all three albums. Its story kept going: after the Bohemian Rhapsody film and soundtrack, it climbed to number 9 on the US Billboard 200 in 2018, and then to number 6 in 2019.
