Queen’s First E.P.
Queen's First E.P. is a four-track EP from the British rock band, issued by EMI on 20 May 1977. It is the only extended play the group put out while Freddie Mercury was alive, and it works as a compact sampler of where they had got to by then. Each song comes from one of their four most recent albums, so it skips across their mid-seventies run rather than sitting in a single moment.
"Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy" leads the way, and the rest of the selection follows the band's studio albums up to that point. It came out the same year as News of the World, so it catches Queen at a busy stage, with a catalogue large enough to fill a short, varied record. It suits anyone who wants a quick taste of their hard rock side alongside their more playful instincts.
