Box of Tricks

Box of Tricks is a 1992 compilation from Queen, issued in the UK and Europe the same year on the Star Direct label. It is a rock release that gathers material from a band who by then had been together for more than two decades, since Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor formed the group in London and John Deacon joined as bassist in 1971.

It arrived at a busy moment in the Queen story. Innuendo had appeared in 1991, the year of Mercury's death, and Greatest Hits II had also been released that year. In the US, "Bohemian Rhapsody" returned to the Top 40 in 1992, reaching No. 2 after its appearance in Wayne's World. Box of Tricks is one for collectors who want a further slice of the Queen catalogue from that period.
