Rock Montreal
Rock Montreal is a live album from Queen, recorded at the Montreal Forum on 24 and 25 November 1981. It captures the band on stage in the early 1980s, in the period between The Game and Hot Space. The shows had previously surfaced as the concert film We Will Rock You, but this release gives the soundtrack its first audio-only outing, fully remixed and presenting the whole show, including "Flash" and "The Hero".
It came out in 2007 on Pioneer Artists, as a double CD, triple vinyl, DVD and Blu-ray. AllMusic called the performance "deliberately theatrical and often majestic", which fits a band playing to a big room. A double DVD pairing the concert with Queen's Live Aid set, plus interviews and rehearsal footage, was also issued. The film was later remastered for IMAX screenings in January 2024 and reissued on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
