We Will Rock You is the soundtrack to the Queen jukebox musical of the same name, released through Parlophone in 2002. The show was written by Ben Elton and built around the band's songs. It follows the Bohemians, a renegade group trying to bring back the free exchange of thought and culture in a vaguely Orwellian society.

It sits apart from Queen's fourteen studio albums, from 1973's Queen to Made in Heaven in 1995, as a stage-and-screen project that gave the catalogue a new setting. The West End production opened in 2002, directed by Christopher Renshaw with choreography by Arlene Phillips. Critics were cool at first, but audiences took to it. It ran at the Dominion Theatre until 2014, and later productions have reached six continents. It is worth hearing as a way into how those songs work as theatre.
