Album
The Endless River
The Endless River is Pink Floyd's fifteenth and final studio album, released on 10 November 2014. It is a double album, built mostly from instrumental and ambient music taken from the sessions for The Division Bell, with extra material recorded in 2013 and 2014 on David Gilmour's Astoria boat studio and at Medina Studios in Hove. Gilmour produced it with Youth, Andy Jackson and Phil Manzanera.
It is the band's first record since the death of keyboardist and songwriter Richard Wright, who appears posthumously, and its only vocal track is "Louder than Words". The cover was made after the death of longtime Floyd designer Storm Thorgerson, with Hipgnosis co-founder Aubrey Powell among its creators. Reviews were mixed, with some enjoying the nostalgic mood and others finding it meandering, but it works best as a quiet, atmospheric farewell.
