1965: Their First Recordings

1965: Their First Recordings is a six-track EP from Pink Floyd, released on 27 November 2015 by Parlophone. It collects music recorded around Christmas 1964, when the band still went by the name the Tea Set, making these the earliest Pink Floyd recordings available commercially. Four songs are by Syd Barrett, one is by Roger Waters, and the sixth is a cover of a song by the American blues musician Slim Harpo.

It is a fascinating curiosity rather than a place to start. The drums and guitars were recorded straight off, with vocals and piano added later, and the tracks feature guitarist Rado Klose and Juliette Gale, first wife of keyboardist Richard Wright, who appear on no other official release. It came out as two 7" records, limited to 1,050 copies and sold only in the EU, to extend the copyright of the recordings. The tracks later reappeared in the box set The Early Years 1965–1972.
