Skeletons
Skeletons is the tenth studio album by Danzig, the American heavy metal band fronted by Glenn Danzig. It came out on 27 November 2015 on AFM Records, and it is made up entirely of cover versions rather than new songs.
Glenn Danzig chose the material himself, drawing on songs from the 1960s through to the 1980s. It follows Deth Red Sabaoth from 2010 and arrives before Black Laden Crown in 2017, so it sits as a detour between two sets of original material. It is worth hearing for what the choices say about the singer's tastes, and for how a band known for its own dark, heavy sound handles other people's songs.
