Milking the Stars: A Re-Imagining of Last Patrol
Milking the Stars: A Re-Imagining of Last Patrol is a Monster Magnet album released in November 2014 on Napalm Records. It follows 2013's Last Patrol, but it is not a straightforward remix. Many of the songs were recorded again with new arrangements, and four new songs sit alongside them.
Frontman Dave Wyndorf described the aim as giving the record "a weird 1960s vibe", and that shapes the whole project. It closes with two live tracks recorded at the AB in Brussels in 2014, which capture the first performance by the band's new bassist, Chris Kosnik. For fans of the American stoner rockers, it offers a different angle on a recent record, and it came just before Cobras and Fire: The Mastermind Redux in 2015.
