Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers
Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers is a four-track EP from Motörhead, put out by Big Beat, a subsidiary of Chiswick Records, in November 1980. It carries the band's name as its title on the original release. The songs were recorded in 1977 at Escape Studios in Kent, during the sessions for their first album, Motörhead, and had sat unreleased until then.
By late 1980 the band were riding high on the back of Ace of Spades, and this EP gave Chiswick a chance to bring out the early material they still held. It was not authorised by the band, though they did not stand in its way. In the UK it reached No. 43 on the singles chart and topped the Indie Chart, a handy reminder of how raw their first sessions sounded.
