Bad Magic
Bad Magic is the final studio album by Motörhead, released on 28 August 2015. It is the band's twenty-second, and the fifth to appear under the UDR / Motörhead Music collaboration that had run across the previous five years. It follows Aftershock from 2013 in a catalogue that stretches back to the band's self-titled debut in 1977.
Its place in the story is what gives it weight. Founder Lemmy died four months after it came out, and Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee said publicly that the band was finished, closing forty years on the road. Only "When the Sky Comes Looking for You" ever made it into the live set. The record was nominated for a 2016 ECHO Award for Best Rock/Alternative International, losing to Iron Maiden's The Book of Souls. For anyone following Motörhead from the start, it is the last chapter.
