North

North is the fourth studio album by American rock band Matchbox Twenty, released on 28 August 2012 through Atlantic. It arrived a decade after More Than You Think You Are, their last record made up entirely of new songs. In between, the band had recorded six fresh tracks for the 2007 compilation Exile on Mainstream.

It marks a few changes in the band's story. It is their first full-length studio album since rhythm guitarist Adam Gaynor left in 2005, and the last produced by Matt Serletic, who had worked with them for years. It also gave them their first number one on the Billboard 200, with 95,000 copies sold in its opening week. For anyone who loved their alternative rock and pop rock sound in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it is a welcome return to the fold.
