Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty are an American rock band who formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The line-up today is Rob Thomas on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards, Brian Yale on bass, Paul Doucette on drums and rhythm guitar, and Kyle Cook on lead guitar. Their sound sits between alternative rock, post-grunge and pop rock, and they have been active since 1996.

Their debut, Yourself or Someone Like You (1996), made them international names and reached diamond status in the United States. Mad Season followed in 2000, reaching the top three on the Billboard 200, then More Than You Think You Are in 2002. After a hiatus from 2004, they returned in 2007 with the compilation Exile on Mainstream, paused again while Thomas pursued solo work, and regrouped in 2010. North debuted at number one in 2012, and Where the Light Goes arrived in 2023.
