No Doubt
No Doubt formed in Anaheim, California, in 1986. The line-up most people know centres on vocalist Gwen Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young, with Gwen's brother Eric Stefani on keyboards until he left in 1994. Their sound began in ska punk and third wave ska, then widened into pop rock and alternative rock.
Their 1992 debut made little impact, but The Beacon Street Collection sold over 100,000 copies in 1995. Tragic Kingdom followed that year, riding the ska revival to diamond certification. "Don't Speak" spent 16 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart. Return of Saturn (2000) earned a Grammy nomination, and Rock Steady (2001), recorded largely in Jamaica, brought reggae and dancehall into the mix and won Grammys for "Hey Baby" and "Underneath It All". Push and Shove arrived in 2012.
