Where the Light Goes

Where the Light Goes is the fifth studio album from American rock band Matchbox Twenty, released on 26 May 2023 through Atlantic. It arrived more than a decade after North in 2012, the longest gap between records in their catalogue, and its first single, "Wild Dogs (Running in a Slow Dream)", appeared in March that year. The album entered the US Billboard 200 at number 53, with 13,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.

It also marks a few changes for the band. Matt Serletic, their longtime producer, stepped aside, and Gregg Wattenberg took the controls alongside band members Paul Doucette and Kyle Cook. None of its singles reached the Mainstream Top 40, and it turned out to be their last record for Atlantic. For anyone who followed the band from Yourself or Someone Like You onwards, it is a chance to hear them working in a new setup.
