Phantomime
Phantomime is a five-track EP of covers from Swedish rock band Ghost, released on 19 May 2023. The band take on Television's "See No Evil", Genesis's "Jesus He Knows Me", The Stranglers' "Hanging Around", Iron Maiden's "Phantom of the Opera" and Tina Turner's "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)". The originals range across heavy metal, new wave and other corners of rock, and Ghost pull them all into their own stadium-sized, pop-leaning metal style.
It arrived after Impera in 2022 and is the only Ghost release made up entirely of other people's songs, with no originals at all. Two singles led the way: "Jesus He Knows Me" went to No. 1 on the US Mainstream Rock chart, and "Phantom of the Opera" followed days before the EP. It is the band's highest-charting EP, reaching No. 7 on the US Billboard 200 and the top 10 in several European countries.
