Wake Me When It's Over
Wake Me When It's Over is the second album by Faster Pussycat, released in August 1989 on Elektra. It follows their 1987 self-titled debut and finds the band stepping away from that record's glam metal towards a more blues-influenced sound, while still sitting within the hard rock and metal world of the time.
The album's best-known track is "House of Pain", which reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its video was directed by Michael Bay, later a film director, and got airtime on MTV. "Poison Ivy" also received a video. The record peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified gold by the RIAA. It is worth hearing as the point where the band began to loosen up and show a grittier side before 1992's Whipped!
