Faster Pussycat

Faster Pussycat are a hard rock and glam metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985 by vocalist Taime Downe, guitarists Greg Steele and Brent Muscat, and bassist Kelly Nickels. Downe is the only constant through numerous line-up changes. They split in 1993 and reformed in 2001, and they have been active since.

Their sound grew out of the Sunset Strip glam scene, with a hard rock core and, later on, an industrial edge. Four studio albums span their career: Faster Pussycat (1987), Wake Me When It's Over (1989), Whipped! (1992) and The Power and the Glory Hole (2006). Those first three arrived during the band's late 1980s and early 1990s run, when they sold over two million records worldwide. If you enjoy Poison, Ratt or L.A. Guns, start with Wake Me When It's Over, then work back to the debut.
