Carnaval de Luz, Spanish and Portuguese for "Carnival of Light", is U2's sixteenth studio album, produced by Jacknife Lee and released through Island on 13 November 2026. It is the Irish band's first collection of new original material since Songs of Experience in 2017, and it is the third batch of new songs they have put out in the year, following the EPs Days of Ash in February and Easter Lily in April.

Anyone tracing the band's story will find it arriving after Songs of Surrender in 2023, the project that revisited their back catalogue. Here the focus is back on fresh writing. The track "Torn" features the last recording of the American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton, who died in August, which makes it the song most likely to draw listeners in first.
